Pueblo Zoo

Bring the whole family to see the "wild side". Open year-round, the Pueblo Zoo is located within City Park in Pueblo, Colorado .  Visitors, including those using strollers or wheelchairs, enjoy an easy stroll through beautifully landscaped grounds that lead to Serengeti Safari, North American Grasslands, the Australian Outback, and an Asian Adventure. There is a tropical rain forest to visit and penguins to watch “flying” underwater. A shipwreck journey around the world is available in the Islands of Life building.

Children meet friendly farm animals in the Pioneer Ranch and watch northern river otters swim and frolic underwater.  World of Color opens in summer 2009.

Pueblo Greenway and Raptor Center

The Pueblo Greenway and Raptor Center is a non-profit education, conservation and recreational facility. It proudly boasts the Raptor Center, a rehabilitation hospital for injured hawks, owls and eagles. Other features include educational programs and exhibits, picnic area, playground, volleyball, horseshoe courts, fishing and cafe. Outdoor concerts and festivals are planned in the summer and events for all ages are held all year round.

Mountain Park Environmental Center

The spring landscape of Pueblo's Mountain Park Beulah is a wonderful place to take in nature's beauty and the Mountain Park Environmental Center offers a number of ways to learn more about nature. MPEC hosts several guided hikes each month of the year, including the winter months. Much of the park's 6 miles of trails are frequently snow free allowing for some excellent hiking. And when the snows come, the scheduled guided hikes become snowshoe adventures.

Union Avenue Historic District

Stroll, sightsee, have lunch at an outdoor cafe, and shop a magnificent mile where history has left its mark. See the noble buildings of Union Avenue restored in great part to their former splendor. Enjot the grand old Pueblo Union Depot, a restored train depot featuring mosaic tile flooring, richly polished wood wainscoting and beautiful stained glass windows.

Rosemount Museum

Built in 1893, this 37-room mansion was home to the John A. and Margaret Thatcher family and named for Mrs. Thatcher's favorite flower. It remained a family residence for 75 years. Designed by noted New York architect Henry Hudson Holly and two years under construction, the mansion was completed in 1893. Nearly all furnishings, accessories, decorative arts, paintings custom paneling, wall and window treatments are original to the home.

Steelworks Museum Of Industry and Culture

The Steelworks Museum of Industry and Culture housed in the beautiful mission style building that served as the headquarters for the Colorado Fuel and Iron Corporation in Pueblo, CO.

Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum

Let your imagination take flight at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum where more than 24 historical military aircraft are displayed. the museum features airplanes and jets from different eras including a B-29 bomber and an RB 37. Tour the displays of military uniforms, arms and relics of American wars and see the Pueblo Air Force Base Diorama. Medal of Honor Memorial

Bronze artist David Dirrim and granite artist William Yates, both Colorado natives, were selected in 1998 to create the Pueblo Medal of Honor Memorial outside the Convention Center on Heroes Plaza. In addition to the statues of Pueblo's four heroes the names of the over 3,400 recipients were incorporated on granite slabs mounted on the walls of the Convention Center just behind the sculptures. Listed by war, the names are in alphabetical order. Other features are a 35 foot flag pole in the center of a pool of water surrounded by a granite bench. El Pueblo History Museum

Three ellaborate galleries preserve Pueblo History in this museum funded by the Colorado State Historical Society. Outdoors is a partial replica of the mid 1800's El Pueblo Trading Post and a glass enclosed pavillion protecting the excavation of the original trading post which is a nationally designated sight.
